FTE - Requested Allocation vs Resource Allocation Slight Discrepancies.

Slight Variations between the Requested Allocations and Resource Allocations when using FTE is to be expected.

EXAMPLE WITH 0.5 FTE ON RESOURCE PLAN FOR OCTOBER 15 - 31, 2020

REQUESTED ALLOCATION FTE = 0.5 

RESOURCE ALLOCATION FTE = 0.51

Say the Average Daily FTE for a User record is 6.6
There are 12 Working Days in October from the 15th to 31st
There are 40.2 Hours that are needing to be distributed.

Here is the calculation:

FTE = Hours / (Average Daily FTE * Working Days)

So...

FTE = 40.2 / (6.6 * 12)
FTE = 40.2 / 79.2
FTE = 0.5075757576

This Rounds to 0.51

The ServiceNow Product Team has mentioned that this is indeed the expected behavior and that there are going to be slight variations when using FTE.

When a Resource Plan of type FTE is requested, the Requested Allocation's planned hours are calculated and the FTE value is copied from the Resource Plan.
Once we allocate a Resource Plan, the Planned Hours on the Requested Allocations are used to create Resource Allocations.
After creating Resource Allocations, FTE and Man Days values are calculated where there can be an expected slight precision issue.
