Description

Windows OS Discovery is not working after upgrading to Paris.

The below Warning message will be seen in the result of the Windows - Classify (WMI: Classify) Probe.

The term 'executeWindowsClassify' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.HRESULT: [-2146233087]

Release or Environment

executeWindowsClassify Function was introduced in the Paris release

Cause

There are two possible causes:

  1. Customer may have customised this script and so it is skipped in the upgrade.
  2. There is also a known problem associated with this error, if you were already on Orlando Patch ??? or later before upgrading to Paris - PRB1442194 - Windows discovery classifier ends up with "The term 'executeWindowsClassify' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet"

Resolution

Check if the MID server Script file "PSScript.ps1" file is customized?

If it is - reverts it to OOB.
