Encrypting reference fields that point to encrypted fields

Users may be wondering if is it necessary to encrypt reference fields which point to encrypted fields.

If users wish to keep information encrypted in reference fields which point to encrypted fields, then those fields would need to be encrypted separately, using the same encryption context. Encrypting the 'source' field will not automatically encrypt the fields that reference it.
