Description

In the em_alert record, only 'work notes' appear in the activities.

Steps:

  1. Access the instance
  2. Go to Event Management > All Alerts
  3. Open any Alert
  4. Notice that only work notes appears in the activity stream

Cause

The audit_type=whitelist attribute is added to the dictionary of the em_alert table. When the 'audit_type=whitelist' attribute is added, only the fields that have 'audit=true' set in their dictionary entries will be audited.

To see the dictionary entry for the table, follow the below steps:

  1. Go to the Alerts list
  2. Open any record
  3. Right-click on the header and then click on Configure > Dictionary
  4. Open the first record whose column name is empty and type is 'Collection'
  5. Change the view to 'Advanced' by clicking on 'Advanced View' related link
  6. In the 'Attributes' field, notice that 'audit_type=whitelist' is added

Resolution

If the other fields also need to appear in the activities, set 'audit = true' attribute in the dictionary entries of those fields by following the below steps.

  1. Go to the Alerts list
  2. Open any record
  3. Right-click on the header and then click on Configure > Dictionary
  4. Open the record for the field
  5. Change the view to 'Advanced' by clicking on 'Advanced View' related link
  6. In the 'Attributes' field, add 'audit=true'
