Error Message on Multilevel Pivot Report "Cannot generate the report. This report contains too much data to visualize. Add filter conditions to reduce the amount of data."

Multilevel Pivot Report  generates the following error message :

"Cannot generate the report. This report contains too much data to visualize. Add filter conditions to reduce the amount of data."

Most Probable Cause:
There is limit of 10,000 data points that can be shown on a multi-level pivot report before the error message is triggered. This limit is hard coded and cannot be changed in the system properties table.

Solution Proposed:
You can either filter it to reduce the quantity data being produced to be below the 10,000 data point limit, or you can export the raw data to Excel and create a multi-level pivot report on Excel.
The threashold 10,000 is not for the number of records on the table but the data points generated by the number of unique combination of values for all the fields selected int he pivot table row/column.
