In some cases, when exporting data from ServiceNow to CSV format the format of some fields would be changed.

Inconsistent formats are due to Microsoft excel versions and need to customize the formats accordingly in the Excel. Below are examples of the date and time formats:

If the below format is seen in ServiceNow tables

• dd-mmm-yy
• dd/mm/yy h:mm

But after exporting to CSV file the format will be changed in some cases like below:

• dd/mm/yy
• mm/dd/yyy

Below are the steps to customize in Microsoft excel:

• Right-click on the field header and select the format cells option.
• Manually select the custom option and set the date and time format in the type field according to the requirement.
