Description

Unexpected results are seen when trying to view grouped by records if there is a filter specified against a datetime field such as created. Instead of displaying expected results it is displaying an empty list. It seems that the URL's encoded query in the rendered HTML is invalid and not returning expected results. The issue seems to be related to the addition of escape "\" (%5C) characters into the URL's encoded query.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Go to an incident.list.

2. Execute a filter with the condition: 'created at or after 2018-01-01 00:00:00'.
Notice the encoded query is:
sys_created_on>=javascript:gs.dateGenerate('2018-01-01','00:00:00')

3. Group the results by the "Priority" column.
Notice the records are grouped for each unique priority value with titles such as "Priority: 2 - High (7)".

4. Click the title, e.g. "Priority: 2 - High ()".
Notice an empty list is displayed instead of the expected records with priority "High" and meeting the search condition created at or after 2018-01-01.
The encoded query is:
sys_created_on>=javascript:gs.dateGenerate(\'2018-01-01\',\'00:00:00\')^priority=2

Workaround

This problem has been fixed. If you are able to upgrade, review the Fixed In section to determine the latest version with a permanent fix your instance can be upgraded to.

As a workaround in case the exact date is not needed, use a drop-down date filter such as Last Year, Last Quarter, Last 12 months, etc.
