Description

After New York upgrade Type and Risk fields change to editable and are not read-only / mandatory after saving the form.

Release or Environment

New York

Cause

1. In the NY release, the OOB business rule "Restrict fields from Standard Change" - https://<instance_name>.service-now.com/nav_to.do?uri=sys_script.do?sys_id=ddfb8160938102009ca87a75e57ffbb4 was updated to add a check for "Read-only fields" defined in the Standard Change Properties - https://<instance_name>.service-now.com/nav_to.do?uri=std_change_properties.do?sys_id=527b5dafff700200b18affffffffff89
2. This business rule tries to re-apply the readonly fields from the template as per the BR script but it gets the values as null since these fields are not defined in the template.

Resolution

1. To resolve this issue and keep the OOB functionality, please remove Type and Risk from the read-only field in the Standard Change Properties - https://<instance_name>.service-now.com/nav_to.do?uri=std_change_properties.do?sys_id=527b5dafff700200b18affffffffff89
2. You may create a new UI policy for the Risk field to make it read-only rather than using the Standard Change Properties.
