Steps to Reproduce

  1. Run discovery of an Ip Address for which the pattern will discover more than one CI of a class which extends cmdb_ci_computer.
  2. The error will be thrown if any of the CIs which class extends cmdb_ci_computer has both name and ip_address empty.

Workaround

Add debug statements to HorizontalResultHandlerGetName.getName() script include to determine which class is returning a null value.

Once the CI class causing the error is determined, the following items can be used as workarounds individually:

  • Create a BR to ensure either name or ip_address is not empty.
  • Update the pattern to populate either name or ip_address.
