By default, there are 4 "Service Mapping Recomputation" jobs per node, on the instance.
During discovery of the Application Service (Business Service), it may affect instance performance badly (example: high memory consumption). This causes scheduled jobs to run for a long period of time, and instance becomes slow and heavy.
We saw that lowering the number of jobs to 2 per node, performance improve significantly.
Lowering that to 1 improves performance even more.
1) If there are performance issues caused by large number of "Service Mapping Recomputation" jobs.
2) If the ServiceNow is on London release.
London release of ServiceNow platform.
The issue is PRB1254922.
[The following steps are applicable to London version]
1) Go to the "System Properties" list (https://<instance>.service-now.com/sys_properties_list.do)
2) Click new
a) Fill out:
Name ==> glide.service_mapping.recomputation.job_count
Description ==> At most one job is triggered if free memory percentage is below this value
