Symptoms

A user is unable to update a record and gets the error message:

"Write operation against '<table_name>' from scope '<scoped_application_name>' has been refused due to the table's cross-scope access policy"

Example: 
"Write operation against 'x_laol_facility_se_facility_services' from scope 'rhino.global' has been refused due to the table's cross-scope access policy"

Cause

This error shows when the table <table_nem> is not configured to accept cross scope updates. 

Resolution

  1. Navigate to https://instancename.service-now.com/nav_to.do?uri=sys_db_object_list.do
  2. Find the table mentioned in the error message (<table_name>) and open the record.
    2- Under the section "Application Access", check the boxes 'can create', 'can update', and save it.
