Unable to access list view of records in mobile app

KB Summary by Now Assist

Issue

Symptoms

When attempting to access a list view of records in the native mobile app users will instead see an error. On an iPhone the error will read "User Not Authorized. Failed API level ACL Validation." and "No Record Selected." On an Android device the error will read "No Records Found. No records were found that match this filter." and "Unable to fetch records."

In the node logs you will see an error that reads "SEVERE *** ERROR *** WebServicePolicyValidator: Table access denied by WebService Access Policy. [tableName= <table_name>]" where "<table_name>" is the table that the user is retrieving records from.

The same user will have no issues when retrieving a list view of records from the same table in the desktop UI and while using "$m.do".

Environment

Classic mobile app

Cause

Issue is caused when the "Allow access to this table via web services" field is not checked in the table [sys_db_object] record.

Resolution

Ensure the "Allow access to this table via web services" field is checked in the table [sys_db_object] record.
