Description

In Service Portal, a reference field with additional columns (ref_ac_columns) breaks when two or more columns contain the same value.


Steps to Reproduce

1. Add the Location field to the Incident default view.

2. Go to the dictionary entry of the Location field.

3. Add the below attributes and save the dictionary entry:
ref_auto_completer=AJAXTableCompleter,ref_ac_columns=name;zip;city,ref_ac_columns_search=true,ref_ac_display_value=false

4. Open the service portal page:
/sp?id=form&table=incident&sys_id=-1

5. Click on the Location field.

6. Pick any location and open that record on the cmn_location table.

7. Replace name and city with the zip-code:



7. Check the location field again on the portal and search using the modified locations zip code. Notice the Zip Code is only visible once instead of in all the three column values:



Workaround

This problem is targeted to be fixed in an upcoming release. If you are able to upgrade, review the Fixed In or Intended Fix Version fields to determine whether any versions have a planned or permanent fix.
