Favicon: inconsistency in displaying favicon when using UI16 on IE

The favicon on the tab/title bar is not displayed consistently on IE when using UI16.

It is replaced by the IE logo.

It works fine with UI15.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Open IE browser
2. Login to instance
3. Click on any link or module.
4. The ServiceNow favicon in the browser tab will be replaced to IE favicon.

 

Expected Behaviour: The ServiceNow favicon should remain consistent.

Observed Behaviour: The favicon is replaced by the IE logo.

Switch to UI15

OR

Use other browsers such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Firefox.
