Overview
There is a difference in how the of the workflow state field looks between the backend UI lists and lists of RITMs in the service portal. The backend shows the state as multiple circles indicating the state with each filled in acroding to the progress of the workflow.
Explanation
This is expected since the service portal list type widgets do not load that workflow state formatter and instead just show the current value.
This may also be seen on the workflow state field of the kb_knowledge table in the portal.
