Description

When Running discovery on Solaris Servers and triggering ZOS - OS probe, part of the Unix - Classify probe, the following error is thrown and classification fails and discovery fails.

Steps to Reproduce

 

  1. Run discovery on Solaris Server on Kingston or London instance
  2. The Discovery Status logs will show Classification has failed

Workaround

  1. Navigate to: Discovery Definition > Probes > UNIX - Classify > ZOS - OS
  2. In the Probe Parameters related list, open zos.sh
    /discovery_probe_parameter.do?sys_id=2a88a763db7eb600d3a4f2b6ae9619c0
  3. Edit the script:

From:

#!/bin/sh
echo `echo $(uname -I) $(hostname) $(uname -Iv).$(uname -Ir) 2>&1`

To:

#!/bin/sh 
P1=`uname` 
P2=`hostname` 
P3=`uname -v` 
P4=`uname -r` 
#echo `echo $(uname -I) $(hostname) $(uname -Iv).$(uname -Ir) 2>&1` 
echo $P1 $P2 $P3 $P4
