Symptoms

Starting Kingston release, "g_form.save()" function does not work in catalog client scripts, however it used to work in Geneva.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Navigate to any catalog item, for example Access.
  2. Create a onLoad client script and add the following in onLoad function: g_form.save()
  3. Save
  4. Click "Try It" on the catalog item.
  5. You will get the following error:

"**The g_form.submit function has no meaning on a catlog item. Perhaps you mean g_form.addToCart() or g_form.orderNow() instead** "

Save error

Kingston

Cause

As confirmed by development team, this is the intended behavior in Kingston release. The fact that this was working in Geneva might be a bug.

Resolution

There is no workaround for this because g_form.save() is not designed to work in Catalog client scripts.
