Description

The article links inside the OOB "Most used article" widget points to the kb_article_view and it is done in the java layer. Therefore one way to resolve the issue is to customize the page "kb_article_view" instead of pointing it to a newer page.

Procedure

Please refer below to customize a widget inside a page

EDIT THE WIDGET:

In order to do so, open the service portal -> knowledge base -> open any knowledge article.
Ctrl + click on the widget and select "widget in editor"
Clone the widget, by clicking on the hamburger icon at the right top
You could see that the author name is displayed as ${Authored by {{::data.author}}} on line 12 under "HTML Template"
Remove that line.
Similarly edit all the changes that needs to be made on the editor.
Save it.

ADDING THE CLONED WIDGET TO SERVICE PORTAL:

Now go back to the service portal page, where we have the knowledge record open.
Ctrl + click on the widget and select "page in designer"
Inside the designer, Replace the "KB Article Page" with the clone that we just created (we can search for the widget using the filter at the left top)
Now we can see the customized widget on the service portal page for the knowledge articles.
