Description

Reference fields created using Jelly script <g:ui_reference> still allow the reference icon (i) to show popups when the mouse is hovered over it.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Log in to a Kingston instance.

  2. Create a UI page (sys_ui_page.do) with the following settings:

    • Name: test ui_reference

    • Category: General

    • HTML:

      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
      <j:jelly trim="false" xmlns:j="jelly:core" xmlns:g="glide" xmlns:j2="null" xmlns:g2="null">
      Company: <g:ui_reference name="company" id="company" table="core_company" completer="AJAXTableCompleter" query="active=true"/>
      </j:jelly>

  3. Save the UI page.

  4. Click the Try It button.

  5. In the Company reference field, click on the magnifying glass.

  6. In the pop-up window, choose a company value.

  7. Hover the mouse cursor over the Company reference field's reference icon (i).

    Note that a pop-up window appears when the icon is hovered over, which is legacy behavior. As of the Kingston release, the window should appear only when the icon is clicked.

Workaround

After carefully considering the severity and frequency of the issue, and risk of attempting a fix, it has been decided to not address this issue on custom UI Pages in any current or future releases. We do not make this decision lightly, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Hover-over popup previews have been removed from OOB forms since Kingston.
