Description

This KB provides information on how users can make the necessary configurations from the preserve data and exclude tables module to ensure that data from the Credentials table (discovery_credentials) is migrated properly during a clone. Not having the proper configuration can result in the target instance containing orphaned records following the completion of a clone.

Procedure

1. Identify all of the children tables under the Credentials table which need to be retained during clone. Here is the list of tables

aws_credentials
basic_auth_credentials
cim_credentials
cloud_credential
cmdb_cloud_mgmt_credentials
jdbc_credentials
jms_credentials
openstack_credentials
sa_applicative_credentials
snmpv3_credentials
snmp_credentials
sn_cfg_chef_credentials
sn_cmp_azure_ea_credential
sn_cmp_infoblox_credentials
sn_cmp_node_credentials
sn_cmp_ssh_credentials
ssh_credentials
ssh_private_key_credentials
vmware_credentials
windows_credentials

 2. For tables where data needs to be retained, create both and exclude and a preserve record for the main parent table as well as all of the children tables.

By following the steps outlined this will ensure that all credentials on the target stay intact during the clone and will ensure that no ghost or orphaned records are created.
