User presence works only if the browser cache is cleared

2387 Views Last updated : Mar 18, 2025 public Copy Permalink
KB Summary by Now Assist

Description

The user has turned on the system property for user presence, but the user presence functionality does not work as expected:

- system property 'glide.ui16.live_forms.enabled' = true

- system property 'glide.ui.presence.disabled' = false

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Login to instance as Admin user using Chrome and disable the Presence
  2. Login to the instance let's say as ITIL user using Firefox
  3. In Chrome, as admin, enable the Presence, notice that presence icon becomes available
    • Notice that in Firefox session presence icon is not reflected, even if you try to log out and log back in but
      presence does not show.
  4. Clear the browser cache in Firefox and notice that presence icon works.

Workaround

After carefully considering the severity and frequency of the issue, and the cost and risk of attempting a fix, it has been decided to not address this issue in any current or near future releases. We do not make these decisions lightly, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

As a workaround, clear the instance and browser cache.
