Description

Attachments to public KB articles in Service Portal are not visible to non logged in users.

 

Steps to Reproduce

1 - Login a pre-Jakarta instance.
2 - Open a KB Article from the Knowledge module.
3 - Add an attachment and tick the checkbox Display Attachments.
4 - Publish the article.
5 - Go to Service Portal and open the same article.
6 - Copy the KB Article permalink URL and paste it in another browser where you are not logged in the instance. Observe the attachment does not show.
 

Workaround

The attachments processor used by the Service Portal and other ServiceNow applications used to require authentication in pre-Jakarta design. This limitation has been solved in Jakarta and onwards.
