The feature 'Add Test Cases from Test Suite' fails if Test records in "Inactive" state are present in the source Test Suite.


Steps to Reproduce


  1. Navigate to Test Management > Test Plans.
  2. Create a new Test Plan and save.
  3. Open a new test plan.
  4. Click Add Test Cases from Test Suite.
  5. Enter a test suite name in the pop-up window.
  6. Click Ok

Observe the procedure gets interrupted by the error below, and not all expected records finish to be imported.


The JavaScript error traced in the localhost session log is the following:
WARNING *** WARNING *** Cannot convert null to an object.
TypeError: Cannot convert null to an object.



This problem has been fixed in Jakarta Patch 3 and onwards.

If a workaround is needed, remove all the inactive tests, or set them to Draft, within the specific Test Suite to be updated. The import will then be able to complete.
