Description

When non-admin users modify the URL for sysparm_view within the sys_user table, a new view record in the sys_ui_view table gets created.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Impersonate ESS user "Joe Employee".
2. Open the user profile.
3. Verify the landing URL points to the expected sys_user record.
4. Modify the URL to switch from the default view to a custom one like PROBLEMVIEW.
Observe a new view record is created in sys_ui_view table.

Workaround

After carefully considering the severity and frequency of the issue, and the cost and risk of attempting a fix, it has been decided to not address this issue in any current or near future releases. We do not make these decisions lightly, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
