Reference icon hover over displays different fields when done from a variable editor for alm_asset table

KB Summary by Now Assist

Description

When referencing the [alm_asset] table and hovering over the reference icon for the field within a variable editor, this shows a different sys_popup from the one shown in a normal form.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create or modify a catalog item to contain a reference variable.
2. Configure the reference variable to reference the table [alm_asset].
3. Run through the catalog item and set the reference variable to "P1000479 - Apple MacBook Pro 15"".
4. Navigate to the RITM that is created and hover over the reference icon. Observe that no useful fields to identify the selected record are displayed. The popup layout contains different fields which can not be configured.

Workaround

After carefully considering the severity and frequency of the issue, and the cost and risk of attempting a fix, it has been decided to not address this issue in any current or near future releases. We do not make these decisions lightly, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
