Description

In Service Portal, catalog items without a Short Description cause issues when included in order guides. The item does not get included and throws the following error:
JSONObject["short_description"] not found.: org.json.JSONException: JSONObject["short_description"] not found.:

Steps to Reproduce

 

  1. Create a new Catalog item named "Test Item" and make sure Short Description is empty.

    For more information, see the product documentation topic Create or edit a catalog item.

  2. Create a new Order Guide named "Test Order Guide".

    For more information, see the product documentation topic Create an order guide.

  3. In the Rule base related list, create a new rule base for the item and include "Test Item" (no condition).

  4. Open the Order Guide in Service Portal.

    Test Item does not get included when the order guide loads. It also throws the following error:
    JSONObject["short_description"] not found.: org.json.JSONException: JSONObject["short_description"] not found.:  To access the log, navigate to System Log > Errors.

Workaround

Make sure all the catalog items which are associated with an Order Guide has a Short Description.

This issue ONLY occurs when Short Description of them included items are blank.
