Description

A change to the settings in the Configuration Console that enable or disable Discovery of software packages fails to register. This can occur when the user switches too quickly between the Unix and Windows tabs.

Steps to Reproduce

Run this test sequence several times.  The same failure occurs if you substitute Windows for Unix in this procedure.

  1. Make sure the Unix tab is selected.
  2. Click on Include for the mode.
  3. Go to the discovery_spkg_filter table.
  4. Ensure the record under type Unix has filter=Include.
  5. Go back to the Configuration Console.
  6. Make sure the Unix tab is selected.
  7. Click on Exclude for the mode.
  8. Go to the discovery_spkg_filter table.
  9. Ensure the record under type Unix has filter=Exclude.

Workaround

Use either procedure to ensure your changes to the software filter were successful:

  • When changing a setting in the software filter, wait briefly before switching tabs. Return to the tab to make sure your changes were registered properly.
  • Enter discovery_spkg_filter.list in the navigation filter and double-check your configuration changes. If they are wrong, correct them in that table and save your changes.
