Clicking the Connect Chat module displays the error page 'Administrator has restricted access to connect'



Issue


Users are not able to see the Connect icon, and users who access the Connect Chat module see an error page that claims that chat is not enabled and that they need to contact an administrator.

This occurs even after enabling chat in the frameset via Collaborate > Properties and without any role restrictions.


 

Solution


The system property glide.connect.chat.disabled (https://<-instance-name>.service-now.com/nav_to.do?uri=sys_properties.do?sys_id=5eda61639f3022005cec3b8eb42e7091) is currently set to true.

Set this property to false to allow the Connect Chat feature to properly display. For more information, see the product documentation topic Connect Chat administration.
