After Jakarta upgrade, Toggle Connect Sidebar is not working 



Overview


After Jakarta upgrade, Toggle Connect Sidebar is not working.

 

How To


  1. Log on to affected instance 
  2. Click on Toggle Connect Sidebar 

The Connect sidebar does not appear, as it should. 

 

Observations


  • Observed an angular js error on browser console.
  • Reported issue seems to be caused by a UI macro ng_chat_config (https://<instance name>.service-now.com/nav_to.do?uri=sys_ui_macro.do?sys_id=4658de97c33122003b935ad551d3aeea), this UI macro was provided as a work-around for a connect chat issue in Helsinki release.
  • In Jakarta release, the fix for that specific issue is already included as part of platform and above mentioned UI macro is not required anymore in Jakarta release. 

 

Solution


De-activate the UI macro ng_chat_config
