With SSO enabled, Service Portal Login or Landing page briefly displays prior to redirecting to SSO provider
SSO is enabled, but the Service Portal Login or Landing page briefly displays prior to redirecting to SSO provider.
The login page set through the portal definition page (sp_portal_list) displays to allow users to login. Once external authentication is required, it will redirect to the SSO provider.
You can prevent this brief display of the Service Portal landing/login page by setting $sp on the sys_public table to false.
This setting requires all users to be authenticated before they can touch anything on the Service Portal, including the landing/login page. The brief pause will no longer occur once this value is set.
NOTE – setting $sp to false is no longer supported. Because every page request is routed through the $sp page, this page must be public, which will briefly show the Portal login page before sending the user to SSO. If you choose to use this workaround, it will be required to have the 'glide.entry.page.script' system property set to the OOB value 'new CMSEntryPage().getEntryPage()', otherwise your instance will go into a constant loop pattern.
