Description

If you have a domain-separated instance and you have changed your domain to something other than global, the Save option is not available for catalog items, business rules, UI actions, and client scripts.

The root cause is two Save UI Action records added to the instance when you activate the Pattern Designer (com.snc.pattern.designer) plugin.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Navigate to System Definition > Plugins and activate the Pattern Designer plugin.
  2. Ensure that the Domain Support - Domain Extensions Installer plugin is active.
  3. In the domain picker, select Top.
  4. Navigate to System Definition > UI Actions.
  5. Personalize the list to add the Overrides column.
  6. Filter the list for Name is Save and Overrides is not Empty.
Note that there are two records.
  7. Select either UI Action from the list.
  8. Right-click the header bar.
Note that the Save option is not visible.
  9. In the domain picker, select global.
  10. Right-click the header bar.
Note that the Save option now appears.

The Overrides references are to two other Save UI Actions on the sys_metadata table. If your domain is not global, these UI Actions override the referenced ones.

Workaround

  1. In the domain picker, select Global
  2. Navigate to System Definition > UI Actions.
  3. Personalize the list to add the Overrides column.
  4. Filter the list for Name is Save and Overrides is not Empty.
Note that there are two records.
  5. List-edit the two records by removing the Save reference values from Overrides and making them empty (null).
  6. Select a domain other than Global
  7. Select one of the UI Action records from the list and right-click on the header.
Note that the Save option is available.
