Opening a form without a Default View, it will show all the fields. However, when exporting to PDF some fields may not appear on the export.

This case mostly appear after upgrades where the Default View was modified.

report to PDF may miss some field

Steps to Reproduce

Remove the Default View:

  1. Navigate to the list view of table sys_ui_view table
  2. Select the record Title = Default view
    1. Navigate to Forms
      1. Delete the Table=incident entry,
      2. Open and click Delete, deleting the fields from the incident
    2. Navigate to Form Sections and look for Table contains incident. Delete the following:
      1. Table = incident / Caption = Notes to delete Watch list, additional comments, and work notes list.
      2. Table = incident / Caption = Closure Information to delete the Closure Information section: Knowledge, Closed by, Close Code, Closed, Closed notes.
  3. Open an incident and export PDF (Portrait)

As a result, the PDF contains very basic information and most of the incident fields are missing.

The solution is to create a view called Default View if it does not exist, and add all the fields required for the report to PDF. If the Default View exists, add, and then remove a new section to the view. This triggers changes that may repair the missing information on the view.

Alternatively, open the record to print, navigate to the gear icon, and select the printer-friendly version, and print to PDF using the browser.
