Using the SC Catalog Get API /api/sn_sc/servicecatalog/items/{sys_id} results in a NullPointerException if the "Data Lookup and Record Matching Support for Service Catalog" plugin is not active.

Steps to Reproduce


1. Navigate to System Web Services > REST > REST API Explorer

2. Click Explore

3. In the dropdown menus select:

Namespace = "sn_sc"
API Name = "Service Catalog API" 
API Version = "latest" 

4. Below these selections choose "List of Catalog Items (GET)" 

5. Click Send and copy the sys_id from the results, 

6. Choose "Specific Catalog Item (GET)" 

7. Paste the sys_id into path parameters 

8. Click Send to observe the error


This issue is resolved in Jakarta without needing to activate the "Data Lookup and Record Matching Support for Service Catalog" plugin. However, as a workaround you can activate the plugin to resolve the errors. For details on the plugin please review the following links:
