Description

Committing an update set that has changes to widgets on a dashboard causes the widgets not to be displayed after the commit.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a local update set and make it your current update set.

For more information, see the product documentation topic Create and select an update set as the current set.

  2. Navigate to Performance Analytics > Dashboards.

  3. Click the context menu icon and choose New Dashboard to create a dashboard.

  4. Click "+" sign at the top right corner of the dashboard and add any widget to the dashboard.

  5. Click Done.

  6. Navigate to Homepage Admin > Pages.

  7. Find the page record (sort by Updated).

  8. Right-click the record and unload the page.

  9. Navigate to System Update Sets > Update Sources > Local Update Sets.

  10. Check the update set for which you captured the widget/dashboard creation and ensure that the changes made were captured.

  11. Complete the update set and then choose Export to XML.

  12. Commit the update set on another instance.

  13. Navigate to Performance Analytics > Dashboards and select your dashboard.

Note that none of the widgets appear in the dashboard display.

Workaround

To display the dashboard:

  1. Navigate to Homepage Admin > Pages on the target instance to find the homepage record.

  2. Click View Homepage.

  3. Navigate to Performance Analytics > Dashboards and view the dashboard.

The dashboard now displays the widgets.

Note: This workaround is effective only on a per session basis. If you do not have access to the homepages module, you will not be able to perform the workaround to view the page.
