Description

Configuration items are being created with the name "[OBJECT OBJECT].[OBJECT OBJECT]"

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Connect to a MID server.
  2. Perform Quick Discovery on any of the Windows CIs.

Note that the Discovery log shows Exactly one match was found in the CMDB: [OBJECT OBJECT].[OBJECT OBJECT].

The Windows - Identity output ECC also shows:

<fld name="name">[OBJECT OBJECT].[OBJECT OBJECT]</fld>
<fld name="fqdn">[object Object].[object Object]</fld>

Workaround

Modify the WMIScanner.js file to prevent type=1 being generated in the ECC queue input:

  1. Navigate to MID Server > Script Files.
  2. Open WMIScanner.js, and comment out the following line:
    currentNode.setAttribute(TYPE, this.getType(name));
  3. Restart the MID server to make sure the file change is picked up.
  4. Run Discovery again.
