Description

You have copied the Step Configuration "Record Query" to a new Step Configuration.

You then added this new Step to your Test, and attempted to set specific Conditions on it, but upon adding Condition fields an alert reports "First select a table".

The cause is that during the Copy, the Step Configuration's input variable "Conditions" has a Dependent field "Table" that doesn't get set.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Navigate to Automated Test Framework > Administration > Step Configurations.

  2. Click Record Query.

For more information, see the documentation topic Server test step: Record Query.

  3. Click Copy.

  4. Navigate to Automated Test Framework > Tests.

  5. Click New to create a new test and click Save.

  6. Click Add Test Step and choose Record Query copy and click Next.

Note that the Record Query copy step form does not render Condition fields, and when attempting to set the conditions fields the error "First select a table" is displayed.

Workaround

To fix your new Step Configuration after a Copy Record:
  1. Navigate to the newly copied Step Configuration (you can navigate to it from the Step form)
  2. Find the Input Variables Related List
  3. Click the Info icon next to the Conditions Input Variable to drill into its detail form
  4. Click Advanced View to see a set of related lists
  5. On the advanced view there is a Dependent Field Related List with Dependent on field field that appears to be empty.
  6. Set the Dependent on field value to Table and save the change.

Now the table error should be resolved when adding setting Conditions on your new Step.
