Description

ATF: Updating a GEM entry in a text field does not update the text. The selected value is ignored until you clear the previous GEM value.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Navigate to Automated Test Framework > Test.

  2. Click New to create a new test.

  3. Provide a name in the Name field and click Save.

  4. Under the Test Steps related list, click Add Test Step.

  5. Create an Impersonate step.

    1. Click Server, then Impersonate, then Next.
    2. Set the User field to any user, for example, Abel Tuter from the demo data.
    3. Click Submit.
  6. Create an Open New Form step.

    1. Click Add Test Step.
    2. Click Form, then Open a New Form, then Next.
    3. Set the Table field to Incident [incident].
    4. Click Submit.
  7. Create a Set Field Values step.

    1. Click Add Test Step.
    2. Click Form, then Set Field Values, then Next.
    3. Click the input value icon (GEM button) to access the value cell to the right of the Short Description field.
    4. In the pop-up window, click Step 1: Impersonate and then click User.
    5. Click in the value cell and hit the Backspace key once to remove User.
    6. Click the input value icon again and in the pop-up window, click Step 1: Impersonate and then click User.

Instead of "Step 1: Impersonate." becoming "Step 1: Impersonate.User," the value remains "Step 1: Impersonate." Selecting other values using the input value icon does not update the text.

Workaround

Clear the previous value by deleting all the text in the box. Using the example in the Steps to Reproduce, "Step 1: Impersonate." would need to be deleted. Click the input value icon to select the desired value.
