Description

A date field whose value is a future date that is submitted through an Order Guide on Service Portal reverts back to the current date if the date format is set to anything else other than yyyy-MM-dd.

Steps to Reproduce

 

  1. Log in and impersonate the System Administrator user.

  2. Change the date format in the user profile.

    1. Click the System Administrator user presence icon in the header and select Profile.
    2. Under Date format, select the date format dd/MM/yyyy.
    3. Click Update.
  3. Navigate to Service Catalog > Order Guides > New Hire.

  4. Under Related Links, go to the Rule base tab and open the Standard Laptop catalog item record.

  5. On the Standard Laptop catalog item, create a new Date variable.

    1. Under Related Links, go to Variables and click New.

    2. Provide the following values:

      Type: Date
      Question: Test Date Field
      Name: test_date
      Order: 1

    3. Click Submit.

  6. In Service Portal, search for the New Hire order guide and open it.

  7. Fill out the order guide values, make sure that the Date field is set to a future date value, and click Submit.

  8. Open the REQ record and then the corresponding RITM record for the Standard Laptop either on the Service Portal or the instance.

    • To open the REQ record on the instance:
      1. Note the number for the REQ record that appears in the infoMessage bubble at the top of Service Portal.
      2. Go to sc_request_list.do and search for the REQ number.
      3. Open the record and under Related Links, open the RITM record for the laptop, for example, Lenovo - Carbon x1.
    • To open the REQ record in Service Portal:
      1. Click the number for the REQ record that appears in the infoMessage bubble at the top of Service Portal.
      2. On the record, on the right side under the Requested Items widget, open the RITM record for the laptop, for example, Lenovo - Carbon x1.

    Note that instead of the date value being the same as the value set when submitting the Order Guide, it is set to the current date (the date the Order Guide was submitted).

 

 

Workaround

Use the yyyy-MM-dd date format.

Update system property: 

glide.sys.date_format

Value: yyyy-MM-dd
