When downloading an attached file with special characters present in the name, the file name is changed to 'download.' This occurs when using Chrome or Internet Explorer. Note the following:

- the issue is not reproducible in Firefox
- the file extension does not change

Steps to Reproduce


  1. Open Chrome or Internet Explorer.
  2. Navigate to Incidents > All.
  3. Open an incident record.
  4. Attach a document with special characters, for example:
    • Chinese characters
    • name similar to EspecificaciónTécnica.doc
  5. Click Save.
  6. Click the attached file to download the file.
    Note that the file name changes to download.doc.



This issue is under review. If you are able to upgrade, check the Fixed In field below to determine the versions that have a permanent fix and add the following system property to the instance:

  • Name: glide.download.filename.rfc6266
  • Type: true | false 
  • Value: true
