Description

The connector JavaScript ScomBiDirectionalJS fails if the MID Server install path has a space in its name.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Install a MID Server on a Windows host with an installation path that contains spaces (for example,
    c:\MID Servers\).

  2. Enable Event Management in an instance.

  3. Navigate to Event Management > Connectors > Connector Instances, and click New in the list view.

  4. Assign the connector instance to use the SCOM connector definition, and use the newly created MID Server.

  5. Test the connector instance.

One of the following error messages might be displayed with a PowerShell command fail error:

    • "The term '[file path before space]' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again."

    • "The term 'Invoke-UpdateAlert'is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again."

Workaround

Install MID Server using a path that doesn't contain any spaces.
