Description

When using the Show Matching context menu item on a choice field, an empty item is displayed in the filter widget.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Ensure that List v3 is activated.
  2. Navigate to Incidents > All.
  3. If Subcategory is not already a column, personalize the list to display Subcategory as a column.
  4. In the Subcategory column, double-click in an empty row.
  5. Verify that choiceListItems for Subcategory starts with --None-- and lists few more items.

  6. In the Subcategory column, right-click in an empty row and select Show Matching.
  7. Verify the filter breadcrump now shows SubCategory=NULL.

  8. Click the filter icon  to open the filter widget.
Note that the condition SubcategoryIS is a choiceListItem.

Workaround

After carefully considering the severity and frequency of the issue, and the cost and risk of attempting a fix, it has been decided to not address this issue in any current or near future releases. We do not make these decisions lightly, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

To work around this issue, construct the filter without using the Show Matching menu option.
