JDBCProbe setDriver('com.sybase.jdbc3.jdbc.SybDriver') fails after upgrade to Helsinki

 

Problem
Starting with the Helsinki release, the Sybase JDBC driver is no longer supported. As of Helsinki, ServiceNow replaced MySQL with MariaDB, including JDBC driver. MariaDB driver is supposed to be compatible with MySQL and ServiceNow OOTB data sources configuration have been updated to use MaraDB driver when connecting to MySQL.

 

Symptoms
After upgrading to Helsinki, any custom scripts that connect to a Sybase database using the JDBCProbe script include setDriver('com.sybase.jdbc3.jdbc.SybDriver') function break.

  

Resolution
In order to fix this issue for Sybase JDBC connectivity, please arrange the Sybase JDBC driver and manually add it to the MID server (check below links).
