ESS users cannot approve task-based tables (for example catalog requests, change requests) through inbound emails or in-application.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create an approval rule on the change request table that sends to a non-roled user (linked to an email you can access).

  2. Request a change that satisfies the rule criteria.

  3. Approve the request from the email.

    Observe that the approval record status switches to approved, but the approval for change request remains requested.


For single-level, single-person approvals, create a business rule on the approval table. Set the conditions so that when the approval is approved, the Task.approval field is set to approved.
