Description

Although Network Discovery primarily needs the SNMP - Routing probe, beginning in the Geneva release, the following unneeded probes also run, which adds unnecessary network traffic and Discovery processing:

* SNMP - Switch - Vlan (Which also triggers the SNMP - Switch - ForwardingTable, SNMP - Switch - BridgePortTable, and SNMP - Switch - SpanningTreeTable probes)
* SNMP - Network - ArpTable
* SNMP - Layer 2 Protocol Caches

Steps to Reproduce

Run a Network Discovery against a routing-capable switch.

Workaround

Disable the unnecessary probes (not including the SNMP - Layer 2 Protocol Caches probe) by adding the condition "values.get('discover') != 'Nets'" to the classifier probes.  This setting is already in place in the base Discovery system when Discovery classifies the CI as a router.
