Description

The Change Calendar gauge and report design pages no longer recognize the preselected default "Highlight based on:" value. Users have to select their desired choice each time the homepage is reloaded. The configuration of the Highlight field selection is not part of the Calendar report, but is stored as preferences on the specific calendar gauge dropzone.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Log in to a demo instance.

  2. Switch to an ITIL or Admin homepage presenting a Calendar gauge, for example, Change Calendar.

If no Calendar gauge exists, create one, make it into a gauge, and add it to the homepage.

  3. Click the Edit pencil icon at the top right of the gauge.

  4. Switch the highlight to be, for example, based on Type.

  5. Save the gauge.

Note that the Highlight based on value has reverted to default with no option selected.

Workaround

Legacy Calendar v1,  when placed on a Dashboard/Homepage, used to remember the selected view (moth/week/year) and highlighting. The new calendar supports this partially by respecting the sysparm_calstyle and sysparm_calview dropzone preferences, but these can only be set by an administrator, and are not auto-persisting settings.

Currently, the only way to make view highlighting persistent is via dropzone preferences.

It is also possible to set viewing directives as URL parameters for a report. For example, append the suffixes below to a report viewer URL:
&sysparm_calview=month&sysparm_calstyle=escalation

These URL parameters will not work in the report builder or designer.
