Business Management enhancements


New and enhanced features for Business Management include: 

EnhancementDescription and Requirement
Demand Management – Project Portfolio Suite with Financials Integrates the Financial Management and Project Portfolio Suite, creating the Project Portfolio Suite with Financials plugin for financial and budget planning for projects, portfolios, and programs. The plugin adds these features to Demand Management:
  • The portfolio workbench: lets you manage end-to-end financial planning and tracking for all projects and demands in a portfolio
  • Cost plans: capture the capital and operational costs of projects and demands
Demand Management – Expected Start and Due Date fields Enables you to specify the expected start date and due date for a demand. The demand duration can then be displayed on program and portfolio workbenches.
Financial Management – Budget preview Allows you to preview a budget before you promote it.
Financial Management – Budget models Enables you to create financial models for budgeting, costing, or both. You can also create multiple budget models and create a segment hierarchy unique to each budget model. 
Financial Management – Fiscal calendar Provides support for the following new types of fiscal calendars: 13-period, 445, 454, and 544. 
Financial Management – Integration with PPS Provides support in Financial Management for portfolio budgets that you create in Project Portfolio Suite. You must have the Project Portfolio Suite with Financials plugin active to use this integration. 
Financial Management – Capital and operating expenses Allows expenses to be classified as capital expenses and operating expenses. 
Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) - Policy and Compliance Managmeent Replaces legacy IT compliance with Policy and Compliance Management. It includes a centralized process for creating and managing policies, standards, and internal control procedures that are cross-mapped to external regulations and best practices. The application also provides structured workflows for the identification, assessment, and continuous monitoring of control activities.
Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) - Risk Management Rearchitects Risk Management to provide a centralized process to identify, assess, respond to, and continuously monitor enterprise and IT risks that can negatively impact business operations. It also provides structured workflows for the management of risk assessments, risk indicators, and risk issues. 
Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) - Audit Management Provides Audit Management, a centralized process for internal audit teams to automate the complete audit life cycle. Project-driven audits let auditors quickly scope engagements, conduct fieldwork, collect control evidence, and track audit observations.
Project Management - Project Portfolio Suite with Financials  Integrates the Financial Management and Project Portfolio Suite, creating the Project Portfolio Suite with Financials plugin for financial and budget planning for projects, portfolios, and programs. The plugin adds these features to Demand Management:
  • The portfolio workbench: lets you manage end-to-end financial planning and tracking for all projects and demands in a portfolio
  • Cost plans: capture the capital and operational costs of projects and demands
Project Management - Program management  Adds Program Management, helping you logically group and monitor related projects or demands under a single entity. It enables you to define program task milestones, anticipated risks, and issues. You can track all the projects and demands in a program using program workbench.
Project Management -  Project reporting  Allows project managers to report the status of their projects on a weekly basis. The reports can be printed or can be sent to stakeholders as attachments.
Project Management - Gantt chart   Enables project, program, and portfolio managers to track the schedule of their respective projects by filtering the projects by any criteria from the project list view.
Project Management - New dashboards  

Adds the following:

  • program manager dashboard
  • project manager dashboard
  • portfolio manager dashboard

The dashboards display the details of programs, projects, and portfolios to the respective program managers, project managers, and portfolio managers.

Release Management - Extension of project recalculation engine

Extends the project recalculation engine to support release and other planned tasks.

Resource Management - Resource workbench updates

Updates the resource workbench to enable:

  • viewing of incoming requests and forecasts for a resource group for a specified time period
  • viewing of resource requirements for programs and portfolios
  • creation of resource allocations for programs and portfolios 
Resource Management - Resource Management report updates Updates to resource management report to allow: 
  • viewing availability, utilization, and allocations for resource groups and individual resources in a single interface
  • viewing current allocations, utilization rates, and the availability of resources
