Description

On the CMS Editing Content Page, sometimes the dropzone section that enables you to position the content by clicking Add Here is missing when you click Add Content. This problem mostly happens when adding a Filter to the content.

Steps to Reproduce

    1. Log in to OOB Eureka, Fuji, or Geneva.

    2. Choose Content Management > Pages.

    3. Select any page.

    4. Under Related links, click Edit Page.

    5. On the Editing Content Page, click the Add Content link at the upper left.

The Sections pop-up window shows three sections:

      • Picker lists at the top
      • Diagram at the center
      • Dropzone section to indicate the desired position for the added content on the page
    6. Create the content block and add it to the page.

      1. In the list on the left, select Filters > Application Menu > Active.
      2. Click Add here to add it to any section at the bottom of the page.
      3. Close the pop-up window.
    7. Click the Add Content link again.

      Everything works fine.

    8. Clear the instance cache by going to https://<instance-name>.service-now.com/cache.do.

    9. Go the page that was edited, click Edit Page, and click Add Content.

      The page looks as expected.

    10. Navigate to a different screen, for example, Incident > All.

    11. Navigate back to the CMS page, click Edit Page and click Add Content.

Note that the dropzone section at the bottom is missing.

Workaround

Clear the instance cache every time before editing a page.

Note - After carefully considering the severity and frequency of the issue, and the risk of attempting a fix, it has been decided to not address this issue in any current or future releases. We do not make this decision lightly, and we apologize for any inconvenience. If you have any questions regarding this problem, please contact ServiceNow Technical Support.
