Description

In Chrome, the addInfoMessage message on record producer pages does not display when using producer.redirect.

Steps to Reproduce

On a demo OOB Geneva instance:

  1. Go to Service Catalog > Catalog Definitions > Record Producers.

  2. Open the Something Broken record producer.

  3. In the Script field, redirect to the incident_status page:

    gs.addInfoMessage('Hi');
    producer.redirect = "incident_status.do";

Using Chrome, go to the demo CMS page /ess.

  1. Under the category Get Help, click Something Broken.

  2. Fill in the required information and click Submit.

    You are redirected to the incident_status page, but the addInfoMessage message does not display.

Workaround

After carefully considering the severity and frequency of the issue, and risk of attempting a fix, it has been decided to not address this issue in any current or future releases.

We do not make this decision lightly, and we apologize for any inconvenience. If you have any questions regarding this problem please contact ServiceNow Technical Support.
