Fields with column name 'email' cannot be displayed in the Activity Formatter. The field can be selected to be added to the Activity Formatter (as explained in the product documentation topic Activity formatter), but even though the field is selected, changes to it are not visible in the Activity Formatter. Note that the changes are visible in the audit history of the record (so they are being recorded), they just do not appear in the Activity Formatter.


Steps to Reproduce


  1. Navigate to sys_user_group.list.
  2. Open any record.
  3. Right-click the form header and select Configure > Form Layout.
  4. Add Activities (filtered) to the Selected list.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Press the 'filter' button next to the Activity Formatter and select Configure Available Fields.
  7. Add the Group email field to the Selected list.
  8. Click Save.
  9. In Group email, type any valid email address.
  10. Edit the Name field.
    For example, add the text '123' at the end.
  11. Right-click the form header and select Save.
    Note that the Activity Formatter only shows that the Name field was modified when it should show that both the Group email and Name fields were modified.


After carefully considering the severity and frequency of the issue, and the cost and risk of attempting a fix, it has been decided to not address this issue in any current or near future releases. We do not make these decisions lightly, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
