Description

The read ACL sys_attachment fails to give users read access to the attachment on a form, so although the attachments do get uploaded, they cannot be read. Non-admin users might be able to click on the attachment icon and attach a file, but the attachment block on top of the form and the attachment file names are not visible after a file has been uploaded.

Steps to Reproduce 

  1. Log in as an administrator.

  2. Create a new custom table extending Task.
    For more information, see Create a table in the product documentation.

  3. Create a record in the new table.

  4. Upload an attachment to the record.

    No error is displayed and the localhost log file shows that the attachment has been uploaded. However, the record form does not show any attachment.

 

Workaround

Modify the sys_attachment/read ACL script (/nav_to.do?uri=sys_security_acl.do?sys_id=0bcf23740a6a38d400c7e02590038464) as follows:

On line 1 replace:


getAttachmentReadAnswer();

with:

answer = getAttachmentReadAnswer();
